Amy Winehouse Chooses Scientology

Ok, so she sings like cat on fire and looks like sin itself but I feel sorry for Amy Winehouse. She has a mental problem that needs fixing.  Its almost diagnosable from the amount of times she’s been in and out of rehab to the sheer desperation of choosing to go to scientology.

When you’re depressed, I mean clinically depressed you will do anything to feel happy again. Its a bastard of a disease that affects anybody regardless of wealth, regardless of fame and is life destroying.  Depression makes you KNOW, not think, but KNOW you will never be happy again. It is it’s certainty that can for some lead to suicide. You will do anything for a quick fix.

How often to do you hear friends say, “Psychology isn’t for me”, or “I tried it and it didn’t work”?  That statement is like saying, “surgery isn’t for me”, right after one of your legs has been bitten off by a shark.
By the time most people actually go to psychologists its already too late. The symptoms are so acute that its going to take months on years to help them.  When nothing happens after the first two sessions they stop going.
The brain is a complicated organ. Your actions have had months to condition the brain to feel emo, and to change its very brain chemistry is going to be a long and hard path. Especially when treatment depends on the very organ they are trying to fix, show up to treatments and sessions.

You would expect a person who’s damaged their spine to get up and walk normally after just two sessions of physiotherapy. It will take months.  Psychological illness is no different.
It’s hard for alot of people to see their emotions like this.  The truth and the reality of the situation is most psychological treatments take time, but really do address the issue.
Quick fixes are a pipe dream and false hope for alot of psychological illnesses. Only science based psychological treatment has the chance of tackling mental problems head on. Like most diseases it can take months if not years to fix.

The only thing more evil than depression are the pricks who pray on those suffering from the disease, by offering quick fixes and pseudo science.
How do they do this? Well they say “we have the answer”, but rather than tackle your mental illness, they introduce a new imaginary reason for your illness (like sin or theatens) and concentrate on the the removal of those imaginary aspects. Placebo’s can work wonders, if done by people who know how to use them responsibly. Placebo’s aside all you have done is swapped one mental illness for an obsessive compulsive disorder, while never really dealing with your original mental illness. All you have done is buried your problem. For some they get a hollow relief, for others they find the new imaginary reason more horrifying than the original illness. When all said and done this isnt a cure its a distraction and a distraction isn’t helpful or address the issues in your life. It is usually fear that keeps people attached to these quick fixes, fear of the original illness returning.

Christianity uses sin as the imaginary reason for your illness and concentrates on the removal of it. Scientintology uses theatens for the imaginary reason of your illness and concentrates on the removal of them. They are no different and both as equally as low and shallow for exploiting people.
Scientology makes a little more sense to me at least because it sounds scientific and doesn’t have a talking snake.  But its that first reason what makes scientology so seductive.

They have “science machines” and use alot of scientific sounding words. All this is their to give an air of authority. To convince people that they know what they are doing.
Its manipulative and its sick. The only defence is to know the difference between real science and pseudo science.
But unlike Christianity, they don’t believe psychology should exist at all. They also believe that you can treat all types of mental disorders without drugs. That’s what makes scientology so dangerous is because this can come at the cost of peoples lives. Stopping medication or playing doctor when you’re really a quack costs lives.

This is no joke. This isn’t up for debate. The only people qualified to make decisions about your health is a doctor. NOT YOU! Especially not some cookoo cult follower.

So remember. In psychology there are no quick fixes, but feel sorry for the people choosing them as they have an evil disease that makes them do stupid things.

Lets hope for Amy, that once the reality of no drugs (not even prescription ones) sinks in she will come to her sences and go back to rehab for real this time.

One can only hope.
